Today’s post is short and sweet (definitely pun intended). I have a lengthy Baking To-Do List, and it’ll be comin’ at ya soon. But for now, let’s talk Oreos.
Okay. I know what you’re thinking. Oreos are some of the best cookies out there- why would I need to make them homemade?
Well, the answer is simple. They are 10000000% better homemade.
Yep, that’s right. Milk’s favorite cookie just got 10000000% better! All thanks to my favorite cacao powder, Weirdo Good’s black velvet cacao.

I didn’t create my own recipe for these because the one on Weirdo Good’s website is just fantastic. The black velvet cacao has such a rich taste. It’s absolutely delicious and I highly recommend trying it! I usually always tweak recipes, but this is one is already so amazing, I couldn’t think of anyway to make it better! It’s perfectly chewy and crunchy at the same time. With the perfect balance between sweet and chocolately, I don’t I’ll ever be able to eat regular Oreos again!
The recipe also makes a lot, so either halve the recipe or be prepared to freeze the dough for later (both options work really well). You can find their recipe here. For the filling, I used my vanilla bean buttercream.

Stay tuned for a sweet cupcake version of these, coming next week!
