Okay serious question. What is milk’s actual favorite cookie: Chips Ahoy or Oreos?

It’s obviously Oreos, right?? I mean, it is the popular tag line by Nabisco. But I’ve be upset to hear people argue that Chips Ahoy is actually the rightful owner of that statement…uh….NO! Sure, classic chocolate chip cookies are AMAZING with milk but Oreos just can’t be compared! The way the crunchy cookie melts in your mouth after being dipped in cold milk…the flavor of vanilla cream dancing with your taste buds…absolutely heavenly!
So when I joined a black/white macaron collab a few weeks ago, I knew that cookies and cream macs were necessary, and Oreos are always the way to go! Although, chocolate chip macs sound pretty amazing…
Before I start a tangent about all my macaron flavor ideas, let’s keep it focused Cookies ‘n’ Cream. Cookies ‘n’ Cream ice cream is bomb. A Cookies ‘n’ Cream cake/cupcake recipe is on its way. Brownies? Definitely! What about cheesecake…wait is that even a question???

A bit of a disclaimer. With the growing gluten allergies and my own intolerance, I feel obligated to say that these macs are not gluten-free. Macarons are usually naturally gluten-free, due to the almond flour. But these have gluten-full Oreos added. If you have a gluten allergy, just sub your favorite gluten-free chocolate sandwich cookie!

I added a touch of Americolor black gel color to get this grey. If you desire a deeper black, you can add more coloring, but I recommend keeping it to a minimum as if affects the consistency and it might end up being over-mixed and deflated. You could always paint the baked shells with black gel color paint, like I did here:

I’ll be writing a post about how to make my gel color paint in a future post, so keep on the look out for that! In the meantime, enjoy your Cookies ‘n’ Cream!
